How to cancel GoHighLevel

No guilt trip. If it is not working for you, cancel cleanly, take your data with you, and do it before the renewal date rather than after it. Here is the order that avoids losing anything.

See what to move to instead

If you are cancelling because it was the wrong fit rather than the wrong time.

Export your data first

Do this before you touch the billing screen. Once the account deactivates, getting data back is not guaranteed.

  • Contacts: Contacts, select all, export to CSV. Include custom fields and tags.
  • Opportunities: export each pipeline separately.
  • Conversations: export or screenshot anything you may need for a dispute.
  • Media: download logos, images, and documents from the media library.
  • Invoices and payment records if you billed clients through the platform.
  • Note your workflow logic on paper. Automations do not export anywhere useful.

Release anything still pointing at the platform

  • Point domains and subdomains away from GoHighLevel before pages go dark.
  • Port or release phone numbers. Porting takes days, so start it early.
  • Disconnect payment processors so no charge routes into a dead account.
  • Remove calendar and email integrations from your Google or Microsoft account.
  • Tell clients before their forms and booking links stop working, not after.

Cancel the subscription

  • Step 1: log in as the agency owner. Sub-account users cannot cancel the agency subscription.
  • Step 2: open Settings from the left sidebar.
  • Step 3: go to Company Billing.
  • Step 4: choose to cancel the subscription and complete the confirmation prompts.
  • Step 5: save the confirmation email. If the cancellation does not appear, contact support in the same billing period rather than waiting.

Cancelling ends access at the end of the period you already paid for. There is no proration, so there is no benefit to cancelling early in a month you already bought.

Cheaper options before you cancel outright

  • Downgrade from the $297 or $497 plan to $97. If you are not using unlimited sub-accounts or SaaS mode, you are paying for capacity you do not need.
  • Switch to annual billing if you are staying but the monthly cost is the problem. Two months free changes the math.
  • If the problem is that you never got it set up, that is a setup problem, not a platform problem. The onboarding checklist and the unbranded training library exist for exactly that.
  • If the problem is client support load, that is what 24/7 white-label support solves without you cancelling anything.

If you cancelled and want to come back

Accounts can usually be reactivated by resubscribing with the same login, though data retention after a long gap is not guaranteed. If you are restarting from scratch, the trial plan is the fastest way to get something live in two weeks rather than drifting again.

Common questions

How do I cancel my GoHighLevel account?
Log in as the agency owner, open Settings, go to Company Billing, and choose to cancel the subscription. Confirm the cancellation and keep the confirmation email. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
How do I cancel before the free trial ends?
Cancel any time before day 14 and the card is not charged. Do it from the same Settings, Company Billing screen. You keep access until the trial date ends.
Do I get a refund from GoHighLevel?
Subscriptions are generally not prorated or refunded after the billing date, so cancel before your renewal rather than after it. Unused wallet credits for phone and email are also not refundable.
What happens to my data when I cancel?
The account is deactivated and your funnels, workflows, and contacts become inaccessible. Export contacts, opportunities, and any media you need before you cancel, because retrieving them afterward is not guaranteed.
Can I pause instead of cancelling?
Downgrading to the lower plan tier is usually the practical version of pausing. It keeps the account and the data alive at a lower monthly cost while you decide.
